Havant ended a five-match barren run with a seven-wicket win over Alton, who dented their 2016 Premier Division championship crown with a shock last-ball victory on the opening day of the season.
But there was no hope of a repeat as Alton were bowled out for 95 (Dan Harris 45) before lunch, with left-armer Chris Morgan (3-11) and Hampshire’s Brad Taylor (3-18) sharing six of the wickets.
Havant lost skipper Ben Walker second ball, but were guided to a seven-wicket win by Stu Ransley (44) and Taylor (29).
