As lead pair Portsmouth and Sarisbury Athletic crashed to defeat, so Andover have gone to the top of Southern Premier League Division 1.
They celebrated a fifth straight win, by one wicket at Bournemouth, while Portsmouth surprisingly lost to lowly Rowledge and Sarisbury Athletic were bowed off top spot by Hook & Newnham Basics, who have hit a good run of form.
Andover scrambled home off the penultimate ball, with tail-ender Mike Adams scoring the winning runs after the Lions had dropped to 164-8 (Ali Hooper 40), chasing Bournemouth’s 193-7 (Luke Matthews 58).
Teenage spin pair Dom Clutterbuck and Robbie Pack caused the damage and when opener Glyn Treagus (46) was eighth out, Bournemouth fancied their chances.
But Adams and Babu Veetill added precious runs to enable Andover to scramble a win by the skin of their teeth.

Charlie King (57) and Richard Lake (41) did the initial spadework as OTs worked themselves into a decent position at 162-3.
But the last seven wickets fell for 24 runs, with Matt Thankachan, Ryan Connor and Mitch Stokes sharing the spoils.

But the target was too great for the Eels, who folded to 109 all out, with only James Taylor (34) making his mark.
