Hook & Newnham Basics pace duo Spencer Champ and Shane Brewer are the bowlers New Milton fear most in the top of the table Southern Electric Premier Division 1 clash at Fernhill, 1pm.
The pair have been taking wickets for fun in the past fortnight, having snapped up 18 of the past 20 scalps Hook have taken in thrashing neighbours
Basingstoke & North Hants and Liphook & Ripsley.
Between them, they skittled Basingstoke for an all-time low 50 and Liphook for 106 last week.
"Their success is down to practice," praised Hook captain Matt Love.
"They've been in the nets working on their accuracy and respective game plans - and it's paid off for them ... and us."
The aggressive Champ has 18 wickets and Brewer 14 in Hook's seven games, six of which they have won.
Not surprisingly, Basics - who lead the table by 13 points - are unchanged, while New Milton - shell socked after last week's 48 all out rout by
Basingstoke - have opener Mark House back in the side after injury.
"I'm putting the Basingstoke performance down to one of those bad days at the office," reflected Milton skipper James Park.
"Tomorrow's an important day. We can't afford to lose twice on the bounce.
"This league is very competitive and, as we saw last week, most of the sides are capable of beating each other."
Love is happy to play down the occasion.
“They will be annoyed with what happened against Basingstoke, but this is not a crunch match as I am sure there will be some more upsets before the end of the season for all three teams.
“We are not going to put any pressure on ourselves. We are just enjoying our cricket as a team and will go there hoping to win.
“If we can bat first and score 200, I would back our bowlers to get us the win.”
New Milton: J Park, House, Haggaty, R Beck, N Park, Edwards, Gargaro, L Beck, Elliott, Loader, Watts.
Hook & Newnham Basics: Love, Thane, M Buckingham, R Wilcock, Allnutt, J Buckingham, N Wilcock, Thomson, Champ, Brewer, Divecha.
* The New Milton-Hook & Newnham Basics match will be featured on BBC Radio Solent's Summer SportsTime programme from 2 o'clock onwards.
