Bashley (Rydal) seamer Jake Lilley took three wickets in an over to trigger a mass collapse by the Hampshire Academy, whose last seven batsmen perished for 31 runs.
At 204-3, the Academy were seriously threatening title chasing Bashley’s 266-8.
But, brought back for his second spell, one-time Academy hopeful Lilley (4-43) clean bowled three Academy batsmen and had a fourth caught as the young Hampshire hopefuls crashed to 235 all out.
Openers Brad Taylor (57) and Felix Organ (51) hit half-centuries at the top of the order as the Academy moved purposefully towards their target.
Jake Goodwin (26) and Elijah Samuel (51) strengthened their position – but then Lilley struck and Sam Thomson (2-46) came on to mop up the tail.
Bashley’s total was built around a solid start initiated by Tom Gates (53) and Simon Ridley (27), but had Gavin Bailiff (57) and Michael Porter (51) taken their respective scores beyond the fifty mark, the total might have been substantially higher.
