Victoria prospect Ben Ashkenazi will give a pacey edge to Lymington’s attack in ECB Southern Electric Premier League cricket. The 20-year old quick bowler, who plays Grade cricket for Frankston Peninsula in Melbourne, has been drafted in to replace fellow Victorian Seb Gotch, who was originally selected to be the club’s overseas player but has had to withdraw from the Elite International Cricket Academy (EICA) programme due to a hip operation. Ashkenazi has played 13 times for Australia Under 19s and, more recently, Victoria Under 23s. Last November he opened the bowling and dismissed Quinton de Kock in a 3-21 return for a Cricket Australia XI in a T20 against South Africa at the North Sydney Oval
