TEENAGER Ollie Perrin proved to be Bournemouth’s nemesis as Totton & Eling boosted their Premier Division 1 survival prospects with a two-wicket win at Southern Gardens.
Perrin (5-24) ripped through Bournemouth’s lower order as they lost their last six wickets for the addition of just 18 runs and were dismissed for 127, writes Neil Perrett of the Bournemouth Echo.
Although Josh Finnie (28), Martin Miller (23) and Ryan Wiltshire (17) helped the Lions to 109-4, Luke Matthews, Robbie Pack and Andrew Woodward all failed to trouble the scorers in the collapse.
However, after Dave Kidner (3-13), Woodward (2-12) and Finnie (2-23) had reduced Totton to 63-7, Bournemouth were in the driving seat.
But Perrin (23*) shared 35 for the eighth wicket with Chris Thomason (23) and 30 for the ninth with Luke Mooney (18*) as Totton reached 128-8 with 13 balls to spare.
The win took Totton & Eling one point clear of Hartley Wintney and nine ahead of Calmore Sports, who are back on the bottom after a two wicket defeat by Liphook & Ripsley.
Ben Perry (69) and James Rose (43) eased the Calmore total to 216-7 at Ripsley Park.
While Surman Ganguly (84 not out) and Giles Cover (53) were together, Liphook were coasting it, but Rose (4-31) and Paul Proudley (3-62) caused consternation in the ranks before the hosts won with eight wickets down.
With nine points separating the bottom three, the outcome of Saturday’s Calmore-Totton derby at Loperwood Park will be crucial.
