THERE’S no stopping Trojans, who roared to a sixth straight Southern Premier League, Division 2 victory, beating third-placed Calmore Sports by 114 runs at Stoneham lane.
Not even a top order wobble which saw Trojans creak at 46-4 before recovering to post 178-8 and skittling Calmore for 64.
Trojans probably didn’t anticipate still being top of the log when the miserly Paul Proudley (3-10) got amongst their top order, with early season run gun Ed Boyd among his new-ball victims.
But, as the high powered motor bikes from a Harley Davidson convention raced along the boundary edge, so Trojans recovered.
Dan Babidge (34) and Nigel le Bas (20) revved up the Trojans innings before teenager Jordan Wright, with 25 not out, and the evergreen Mario Mohammed (16) put important runs on the board and gave their side some breathing space.
Ben Perry took 3-19 for Calmore, whose reply spluttered from the start and fell to pieces against Faisal Rahim (2-21) and Jamie Donaldson, whose 5-21 return reduced the visitors to 30-7. Only three Calmore batsmen got into double figures before Mohammed (2-7) ended the agony in the 26th over.
