Trojans remain unbeaten and 27 points clear at the top of Southern Premier Division 2 – but they were indebted to seventh-wicket pair Jordan Wright and James Truscott for their win at Paultons.
The Stoneham club was facing its first defeat of the season at 122-6 chasing down Paultons’ 209 all out.
But teenager Wright (47) and Truscott (43) steadied the ship and guided Trojans to a seventh straight win with 14 balls to spare.
Dan Babidge (41) earlier glued the Trojans top order together after the evergreen Simon Williams (who had earlier taken 3-26) had been forced to retire hurt with a torn calf muscle.
Ironically, Paultons – struggling in third from bottom position – were in trouble themselves at 88-6 (Syed Mahmood 3-25), but were rescued by Simon Jenner (59), Rob Pike (25) and Jack Murrell (20).
Tichborne Park put a serious dent in Sparsholt’s promotion aspirations when they completed the double over their local Winchester district rivals.
Michael Haworth (37), Tom Foster (44), Jamie Skeoch (39) and flu stricken Dave Banks (24) all made decent starts for Sparsholt, whose prospects of posting a competitive score were blown away by Will Allam’s 4-34 return.
New Zealander Kyle Ruffell (3-43) reduced Tichborne to 45-3 (George Ayling 28), but Sparsholt were unable to stop Tom Allam, who ran amok, smashing an unbeaten 99 as the Alresford club won with six overs to spare.
Calmore Sports lie one point behind Tichborne Park after cruising to a comfortable 121-run win over relegation haunted Fawley at Holbury.
Tam Goodrich (52), aided by teenage duo Ben Johns (46) and Ben Moss (46), put Calmore in a strong position before Ben Perry chipped in with an unbeaten 43.
Only Andy Parratt (37) made an impact as the miserly Mark Lavelle (4-9) and Mike West (3-13) reduced Fawley to 91 all out.
South Wilts II suffered a heartbreak three-run defeat at Hartley Wintney, where they just missed out chasing a daunting 286-7.
Danny Plume cracked a bet-yet 127 for Hartley, who have won their last four games.
But their sizeable score came under threat as openers Owain Phillips (49) and Tom Cowley (53) put on 109 for the first wicket, before both departed in the space of two runs.
Tasmanian Tom Garwood (5-39) was the pick of the home bowlers and removed Rob Pittman (9) caught and bowled as South Wilts reached 130-3.
Ben Draper (59) and Pearce (37) kept their side in the hunt with a fourth wicket stand worth 83 runs.
Then fifth pair Draper and Stephen Kidd (27) as they moved the score to 257-6.
At this point, Plume (2-45) and Garwood got amongst the wickets as the visitors found themselves 269-8 and then 281-9 with Draper out.
It left SW last pair unable to get the visitors over the finishing line as finished three runs short.
Depleted Bashley (Rydal) II remain rooted to the bottom after a George Marshall (52) half-century for Hambledon condemned them to a five-wicket defeat.
