Portsmouth have broken clear at the top of Southern Electric Premier League Division 2 and are now the only club with an unbeaten record.
Australian Patrick Burns (4-21) and Jed Whitecross (3-20) plunged previously undefeated Fawley to 79 all out – victorious Portsmouth skipper Dave Henderson heaping praise on his bowlers.
“It was down to the merits of bowling full and straight and taking our slip catches, three in particular by Jack Marston,” he said.
“Jed Whitecross was my man of the match with his bowling. He made the batsman play at everything: he and Pat have made a great new ball double act at the start of the innings with Vikram Dawson hungry and waiting in reserve.”
Catcher Marston then hit 35 as Portsmouth retained the only unbeaten SPL2 start.
Paultons climbed into second place in Southern Electric Premier Division 2 after emphatically ending Tichborne Park’s own three match winning start.
The Alresford visitors fielded a weakened side at Whitemoor Lane and where whisked out for 87, Queenslander Justin Rei’d 42 making up almost half the total.
Tony Richman, Jack Murrill and Rob Pike all took two wickets, while left-arm slowman Andrew Denny returned 3-20, including that of the Australian who was last man out.
Lee Wateridge (21 not out) and John Robinson (49) took Paultons to the brink of a nine-wicket maximum point win.
Craig Renders (5-34) celebrated his second five-wicket haul of the season when Langley Manor rushed Hursley Park out for 99.
Graham Noble took 3-3 as HP plunged from 38-2 to 99 all out – a total the Manor cruised past with Conor Browne hitting 36.
A third defeat in four matches has left Hursley, relegated last season, third from bottom of Premier Division 2.
Teenagers Mike Haworth (45) and Tom Foster (48) played their part as Sparsholt picked up a much needed Southern Electric Premier Division 2 win with a four-wicket victory over basement boys Bashley (Rydal) II at Locks Lane.
Haworth clung on to three catches to complement Mike Doubell (3-26), Dave Gough (2-24) and Kiwi Kyle Ruffell (2-43), who bowled Bashley out for 175, Chris Vaughan and Neil Taylor each making 29.
Haworth and Foster took the initiative as Sparsholt won, despite a miserly ten over spell by Neil Taylor (2-12).
