Evergreen all-rounder Jamie Donaldson was Trojans hat-trick hero in the thumping 134-run win over St Cross Symondians, which keeps the unbeaten Stoneham club at the top of Southern Electric Premier Division 3.
The lanky Donaldson took 5-20 including the wickets of Grant Edgar, Alan Whitman and Robbie Hadfield in successive deliveries as St Cross tumbled from 53-2 to 57-2 in the blink of an eye.
Only Hawkeye inventor Paul Hawkins (46) put up any resistance as the Winchester hosts dropped to 113 all out.
Trojans earlier posted 247-9, with half-centuries from Nigel le Bas (60) and Dan Babidge (51).
Waterlooville made it four wins out of four as they lowered Gosport Borough’s colours on their Privett Park fortress with a 98-run win.
Max Goddard’s side were indebted to a vital knock from number nine batsman Brad Mengham (35 not out) in their 199 for nine as Simon Creal (3-56) impressed.
And they took that late momentum into the Gosport reply as Borough were bundled out for 101 as Sam Hillman (3-30) helped maintain Ville’s perfect start.
Goddard said: ‘We bowled really well because I thought we were a little bit short at the midway point. They were the best bowling attack we’ve played so far this season but Brad played really well and we put on 35 runs for the last wicket. That gave us a bit of extra momentum then we got some early wickets.’
Havant II came out on top in a close and dramatic battle with South Wilts II, the game being decided by five wides in the last over.
Graham Burns (3-24) and Bobby Dyer (3-49) restricted South Wilts II to 185-9 (Tom Pearce 51). James Christian (59), Dyer (38) and Burns (31 not out) played their part in taking Havant II to a two-wicket victory just in the nick of time.
Chris Thomason rolled back the years with au unbeaten 50 as Totton & Eling overhauled Lymington’s 203 (Oli Kelly 65).
Adam Carty (54) and Simon Ennew (44) played their part in Totton’s maximum-point success.
Basingstoke II enjoyed that winning feeling for the first time as they won by seven wickets and moved off the bottom of the table. Alton IIs were bowled out for 123 at May’s Bounty
This was thanks to excellent figures from Keith Harris (10-6-11-3) and Rakitha Perera (10-6-9-3), while Bradley Neal also chipped in with two wickets. A second wicket stand worth 94 between opener Andy Giles (29) and Steve Bucksey (51) helped the home side to a winning score of 127-3.
