If you’re still playing regular competitive cricket in the Southern Premier or County Divisions of the Hampshire League and are 49 years of age and approaching that half-century milestone, then the Hampshire Seniors may just be the next step along your ‘career’ path.
The Seniors’ are eager to recruit fresh blood for the 2019 season, particularly the Over-50s, who play in the ECB 50-plus County Championship, with good quality fixtures against the Channel Islands, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, the Isle of Wight, Somerset and Wiltshire, all in midweek. There is also an Over-50 A X1.
The Over-60s also run two teams and for the ever youthful there is an Over-70s XI.
Pre-season nets are just around the corner – Wednesday 6 February, between 8 and 9 o’clock at the Ageas Bowl, where four lanes have been set aside for a ten-week period up until 10 April. New players are most welcome - just turn up.
So, if you’re up for some competitive seniors cricket, this is your big chance to show off your talents. Remember, Hampshire Seniors’ is not a closed shop.
