Bashley (Rydal) will be without five of last season’s ECB Southern Premier League championship winning side when they entertain Andover in the League Cup curtain raiser at the BCG, 12.30.
Leading run scorer Tom Friend, Ben Walker, left-armer Brad Currie, promising all-rounder George Pardoe and left-arm spinner Ross Grierson are all missing.
But, on a positive note, Bashley include their two winter signings Dorset pair Dom Clutterbuck and Harry Fisher, alongside Sam Crisp, an exciting 16-year old left-arm pace bowler from Poole Town.
Of the five absentees, Currie will return to action as soon as his ‘isolation’ period ends – he is in the Hampshire ‘bubble’ having been training alongside sibling brother Scott in the county squad – and may be back for the round two league cup matches.
