Bashley (Rydal) left-arm seamer Brad Currie, pictured, has been chosen to play for Scotland in next month's ICC World Cup in India, where he will link up with Hampshire's Brad Wheal.
Scotland were the beneficiaries of Bangladesh's last-minute withdrawal from the World Cup as the highest-ranked team who had not already qualified.
Currie, who qualifies for Scotland through his dad Bill, made his international debut at the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in 2023. He took 5-13 in the final against Ireland - just his sixth appearance - and helped to secure the team's place at the 2024 tournament in the Caribbean and USA.
The 27-year old Poole based medium pace bowler has a white ball contract with Sussex and is expected to play in this summer's T20 Blast.
Scotland are due to play warm-up matches against Afghanistan and Namibia in Bengaluru on February 2 and 4 before their opening fixture against West Indies in Kolkata. Their other first-round matches are against Italy, England and Nepal, with the top two teams in Group B then qualifying for the Super 8s stage.
