Bashley (Rydal) all-rounder Jacob Gordon starred at Lord's as his Oxford Brookes side beat Leeds Bradford UCCE by 21 runs to become British Universities champions.
Gordon had to overcome the loss of two early team mates to hit seven fours in a fine 66 and share a decisive 80-rn stand with man-of-the-match Wajid Shah (85*) as Oxford posted 230-9 off a rain trimmed 41 overs. The Bashley man later took 1-40 as Leeds fell short.
