A chanceless and forceful century by Tom Foyle set up a crushing 127-run victory for St Cross Symondians over Southern Premier League Cup West Division rivals Bournemouth, who were outplayed in every department.
Foyle struck 103 as St Cross piled up 275-4 in their 40 overs before dismissing a demoralised Bournemouth for 148 in the Green Jackets Ground sunshine.
Not even a ball sanitizer break every 20 minutes or so could stem the St Cross run flow, Foyle and Harry Trussler (17) setting off at six an over – a rate they maintained throughout the afternoon session.
Bournemouth continued to bowl in the wristy Foyle’s scoring arc and paid a severe penalty as the left-hand St Cross opener plundered a six and 13 fours – his second wicket partnership with Matt Stokes (28) taking the score on to 125-1 and setting up a formidable total.
Looking increasingly confident, Foyle went on to bring up his first SL century in five seasons – his only previous hundred coming at Havant in August 2016.

Ellis, who struck two maximums and seven fours in a crisp and enterprising 58, before Jack Bransgrove (35 not out) and Harry Ed Foyle (18 not out) added to Bournemouth’s misery.
Bournemouth, wilting in the heat, didn’t distinguish themselves in the field – nor did they with the bat as Simon Beetham (4-13) bowled straight and quickly removed Nick Park, Adam Davies and Sam Collins to leave the visitors 13-3.
Luke Matthews (48) steadied the ship, but regularly lost partners. From 43-5, Bournemouth could only look to respectability, but only Alex Nippard (23) and Jake Hurley (23) offered any support before Harry Foyle and Stokes took wickets each to end their misery at 148 all out.
