BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY, who were beaten by 44 runs by Cardiff in their opening BUCS Western Conference match at Chapel Gate. It was Bournemouth's first competitive match for two years and eight of the side were newcomers to BUCS cricket.
South Wilts raised Ed Wade (41) top scored in Cardiff's 180 all out - Charlie Davies took 3-24 - but Bournemouth's response never really got going and they were indebted to late runs by Oli Hills (34) for their eventual 136 all out.
