Teenager George Neave blasted Liphook & Ripsley into the semi-finals of the National Village Cup - and to within one win of Lord's - with an unbeaten 70 as the Southern Premier League Division 1 club beat North Perrott by six wickets, chasing down their hosts' 243-7 at Willis Lane.
Liphook lost openers Ryan Covey and Rob Nicklin and were 35-2 when Harry Munt (61) and Suman Ganguly (61) came together. They took Liphook's reply to 128-3 when Neave arrived at the crease to hit an unbeaten 70, including ten fours and a six. Richard Williams made 26 not out.
Earlier, Liphook clawed their way back into the game after a whirlwind start by NP openers Gary Retter (69) and Jamie Baird (43). John Ireland (45) and Jake Symes (54) kept the runs flowing until Ganguly's 3-41 pegged them to 243-7.
Liphook are away to Sussex League club Mayfield (recent conquerors of Rowledge) in the semi-finals on Sunday week, August 5.
