Danny Briggs is set to return to his Steephill roots when Ventnor host promoted Southern Premier Division rivals Calmore Sports, 12 noon.
Now aged 35 years, Briggs spent his formative years playing in the famous Steephill bowl before enjoying a fine career on the county circuit.
He was a key figure in Hampshire's prolonged spell of white-ball success between 2009 and 2015, and further stints at Sussex and Warwickshire cemented his status as the leading wicket-taker in the history of the T20 Blast.
Briggs, who last played for Ventnor at Steephill against Rowledge in 2008, was twice selected by England (v Pakistan and South Africa) in 2012 and won a County Championship winners medal with Warwickshire.
He is currently with Sussex and plans to use Ventnor's white ball matches as preparation for the Vitality T20 Blast which begins later this month.
"I'm really looking forward to pulling on a Ventnor shirt again. I enjoyed some marvellous times there. The club had a major influence on my career and hopefully I can repay them with some runs and wickets," he smiled.
Sri Lankan run gun Dineth Thimodya is injured.
Ventnor: Danny Briggs, Josh Carpenter, Charlie Calloway, Hugh Calloway, Dan Cox, Henry Edwards, Archie Lucy, Ethan Short, Alex Stogdon, George Watts, Ben Woodhouse.
Calmore Sports: Johns, Ambat, Hardwicke, Williams, Taylor, Allaway, L Longland, Hibberd., Butcher, Lavelle, Perry.
