Skipper Spencer Le Clercq struck his career best league score as Hambledon threw the Southern Premier League second tier title race wide open.
He promoted himself to No 3 in the order and hit 85 as the Dons moved to within eight points of table-topping Sarisbury by inflicting an eight-wicket beating on them. hey also beat them at Ridge Meadow back in May.
The captain hit eight fours and a six at Allotment Road in his 111-ball innings, sharing a second wicket stand of 145 with South African spin all-rounder Justin Behrens.
Le Clercq usually bats in the middle order but was higher this time as Hambledon were without opening pair, George Marshall and leading run scorer Chris Pratt. Both players will be back for Sunday's National Village Cup semi-final tie at Foxton Granta, near Cambridge.
Behrens ended unbeaten on 64 as the Dons cruised past Sarisbury’s 174 all out total with seven overs in hand.
After the hosts had elected to bat, Dons’ James Restell claimed a huge early wicket when he bowled Tom Morton for just four.
Ricky Rawlins hit 57 at the top of the order, but it was 127-4 when teen Elliot Lewis – the sixth bowler used by Le Clercq – had him caught by Jonty Oliver.
Oliver, who played for Old Leysians in the Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire Premier League while completing his degree at Loughborough, then took 3-31 off 10 overs.
Chris Sanders (23) was Sarisbury’s second highest scorer before he was run out by Behrens.
