After the disastrous on-field performances of England women (white washed 16-0 in Australia) and the men's crushing and record T20I defeat in India, the Dorset Cricket Society has decided to change the shape and size of the ball for its Thursday's meeting at the Hurn Bridge Sports Social Club [aka Christchurch FC], 1;.45pm.
This week's guest speaker is former England rugby international Tony Diprose, pictured playing for the British & Irish Lions on Martin Johnson's triumphant 1997 tour to South Africa. Capped 10 times by England at number 8, Diprose played top level rugby for Saracens and Harlequins.
He is now Director of Sport at Canford School, a role he has undertaken for the past five years. He will talk about his rugby career, the personalities and touring with England and the Lions. The current Six Nations Championship will also get an airing.
Tony also loves his cricket, having represented Essex at junior age group level. He has often turned out in Lord's Taverners matches.
Thursday afternoon promises to be an enthralling one - something completely different - so why not come along ?
