Alton beat Kent Premier League side Lordswood by six wickets before losing to Roffey in the Vitality T20 South Regional final at Horsham.
They bowled Lordswood out for 139 (Dan Scott 3-24) in the semi-final before Dan Harris (41), Mark Heffernan (41 not out) and Joe Paul (28) took them to victory with four balls to spare.
But beating Roffey, the Sussex Premier League champions, proved a step too far for the Brewers, who collapsed to 51-5 before Ben Mortimer biffed 40 to lift their score to 108-8.
Roffey polished off the target with Theo Rovers cracking eight fours and two sixes in an unbeaten 70.
News that Roffey now have to travel to Penzance in the qualifying round may have taken the edge off their victory ...
