Local sport, long standing soccer supporters and, more specifically, members of the Fareham Branch of the Royal British Legion, will be saying their farewells to an 'Ambassador for Fareham' Ted Burridge at a funeral service at St John’s Church, St Michael’s Grove, Fareham (at its junction with Redlands Lane) this Friday (June 1) at 11.15. Off-street car parking.
Those attending are being encouraged to wear a Pompey football shirt or maybe with a poppy emblazoned tie, or even RAF memorabilia, anything that would reflect Ted’s passion for these entities.
Ted’s enormously active life in local sport, be it cricket, darts, and football, the RAF and his unstinting loyalty to the annual Poppy Day Appeal will be remembered afterwards at the Duke of Connaught Club, Western Road, Fareham, PO16 0NS. The News photo.
