Nathan Feltham cracked a blistering 91 not out - 74 of them in boundaries - to haul Sarisbury Athletic out of the mire and to an eventual victory over Bashley (Rydal) in the Southern Premier League's T20 Plate cup final.
Sarisbury had lost three wickets for six runs - two of them to Dan Goodey (2-22) - when Feltham launched his boundary blitz, barnstorming the Division 1 side to 174-5 and a 16-run win.
Josh Hill went first ball, with Jack Robson and Tom Morton following soon after. Sarisbury were 6-3 with only 14 balls bowled.
The left-handed Feltham, pictured with his MVP award, was soon in his stride, striking boundaries off four of the initial six deliveries he received, but by the tenth over Sarisbury were 58-5, with Cameron Grierson (20) a second victim for George Wilson (2-28).
With Goodey essentially their only front line bowler, Bashley saw their back-up attack ruthlessly mauled for 116 off the last ten overs - Feltham plundering five maximums and 11 fours in a brutal 91 not out. Rob Franklin weighed in with an unbeaten 43, beating the rope six times.
The first half of Bashley's reply was played in rain - not quite enough to take the players off the field, but sufficient to have a DLS target illuminating the electronic Bemerton scoreboard.
Alex Turner (26) and Saif Achakzai (19) got Bashley off to a flier with 29 runs in quick time. Then, after a two wicket over by Jordan Wright (2-22), Goodey (26) and Michael Porter (19) had 93 on the board with ten overs bowled.
The rain abated, but Bashley were losing wickets - four fell for 17 runs with Tom Kitcher (5-22) cashing in - before Preetpal Singh (23) and Pat Holly (17) trimmed the margin of defeat. Bashley closed 158-9.
