FINCH GROUP GUY JEWELL CUP LATEST

BASINGSTOKE and North Hants set up a Finch Group Guy Jewell Cup semi-final clash with Odiham and Greywell on August 4, after they beat Hook and Newnham Basics B by 39 runs. 
The Bountymen made 137-7 from 18 overs with Matt Deadman top scoring with 34, being well supported by Matt Donaldson 25 and Joe Oates 22. Spinner Charlie Neville was the pick of the Hook bowlers taking 4-32, writes Graham Merry.
Hook made 98-7 thanks to Sam Bruin 36 and Neville 28 not out. Brad Neal helped himself to 3-6 for Basingstoke.
Holders Hartley Wintney play their quarter-final tie against Odiham & Greywell on Monday July 26, with the winners playing Hook & Newnham Basics on August 2.  
In the Cyril Thompson Trophy, Oakley reached the last eight with a rain affected win over Ashford Hill.
Oakley finished on 126-7 from 16 overs as Will Cheyney 33, Josh Carpenter 29, Alex Brundle 24, while Rich Peters took 2-29.
Ashford Hill had reached 61-2 after 11 overs when the rain arrived at May’s Bounty, with Oakley’s Clive Welsman having taken both Ashford wickets.  Oakley won the game on count back as they were 85-4 after 11 overs.
Tonight, Overton face Herriard, then on Monday, July 19 Chawton take on Aldermaston Rugby while on Thursday July 22 Binsted face Stratfield Turgis.   All three Trophy games are at May’s Bounty and have a 6pm start.
