Skipper Hilio De Abreu and Chris Blake scored half-centuries as Burridge celebrated their first outright victory of the Southern Premier League top flight campaign to leave defeated opponents Bournemouth bottom.
After restricting Bournemouth to 201-9 off a rain trimmed 62 overs, left-hander Blake shared in separate 60-plus stands, the first with Azimunnoor Chowdhury (41) then 66 with De Abreu (55). With Cape Town teenager Nathan Schultz whacking a quickfire 40 not out, off just 22 balls, Burridge won by five wickets in 51 overs.
Ollie Creal (3-46) and Dan Stancliffe (3-55) had been the main wicket-takers when Bournemouth batted but never got into any rhythm after losing four wickets for 51 (Tom Willoughby 27).
Left-arm spin all-rounder Rob Pack (55*), who claimed a five-wicket haul for Dorset in a National Counties Trophy win over Staffordshire on Sunday, grafted a well deserved half-century. He added 81 for the fifth wicket witty teenager Lewis Freak (47).
For Burridge, it ended a run of five losses and a winning draw (against Lymington) in their opening six fixtures.
As for Bournemouth, they are now bottom of the Premier Division, due to having 25 points deducted by the SPL following the abandonment of their opening day home game at Chapel Gate with Hook & Newnham Basics due to an ‘unsafe’ pitch. The two subsequent Premier Division pitches at Chapel Gate have been well marked.
