Winning the Southern Premier Division 2 bowling award almost put the icing on the proverbial cake for talented Wickham-based Fair Oak left-arm all-rounder Charlie Gwynn, pictured TOP LEFT after receiving his prize at the league’s presentation ceremony.
The left-arm spin bowler, who recently graduated from Oxford Brookes University, took 33 wickets and scored 407 runs, making him Division 2’s stand-out player.
“The only downside was Fair Oak not achieving promotion. We were in the mix for most of the season, but finished a disappointing fifth,” he reflected.
Champion Liphook & Ripsley opener Ryan Covey won the Division 2 batting award with 476 runs.
