Hampshire Seniors have given themselves a mathematical chance of qualifying for the national phase of the Sixties County Championships by crushing Wiltshire by eight wickets – but they’ll probably have to beat Wales in Ebbw Vale on Tuesday if they are to pip Gloucestershire to third spot in the west group.
They rushed Wiltshire out for 67 (Graham Horn 35*) with Andy Weeks taking 4-4 and raced to an eight-wicket win, with David Price 37 not out. The visitors were without their inspirational leader Tim Mynott, absent on MCC duty.
Gloucestershire, one point behind Hampshire in the group table, face Wiltshire at Marlborough.
