Hampshire youngsters Toby Albert (above left) and Fletcha Middleton (right) are set for a winter in the sun in Western Australia and South Africa, respectively.
Albert, ECB Southern Premier League Young Cricketer of the Year in 2021 when he skippered the Hampshire Academy, has joined the Perth-based WACA Grade club Joondalup and made his debut, scoring ten in a five-wicket defeat by Claremont Nedlands.
Middleton, who spent the past summer with Totton & Eling, will join Cape Town CC once the WPCA competition beings later this month. The Cape Town Premier League franchise competition, in which Hambledon's Matt DeVilliers features, launches the Cape season under Table Mountain.
Most of the Australian domestic club season has been delayed due to extreme weather with huge amount of rain falling upon Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
