But Hambledon wrestled back the initiative with seventh wicket pair Mark Butcher (36 not out) and Oli Whittle (26) taking 41 runs off the last three overs to lift the total to 224-7.
Ricky Skeates (41) and Tom Berzins (29) provided Sparsholt with a positive 70-run start - only for Glanfield (4-37) and Whittle (2-10) to carve deep inroads into their reply.
Callum Doran (23) and Tom Ley (20) responded only for Sparsholt to lose their last four wickets for three runs and fall to 143 all out. Harry Graham finished with 3-16.
