HYTHE & DIBDEN, who moved fourth in Southern Premier League Division 3 after a close 15-run win over Trojans, who lost their last five wickets for 30 having appeared to be in a strong position.

At 188-5, the odds were in favour of Trojans overhauling Hythe & Dibden’s 233-9, but they lost their last five wickets for 30 runs – Aaron Oliver and Will McKay doing the late damage – as the Stoneham visitors fell to 218 all out.
The late twist somehow reflected a game of fluctuating fortunes, with Hythe themselves having to recover from an uncertain 105-5, despite Zac Millar’s ten-four 42, Faisal Rahim (3-38) having caused the Watersiders early problems.
But Mark Howe (36), Alex Nicholas (33), Wayne Royan (28) and Will McKay (21) tilted the balance to provide Hythe with a competitive tea-time total.
Ed Boyd (49) was prominent as Trojans moved to 102-2 and when sixth-wicket Abdul Manjra (41) and Rahul Bhome (31) were together, an away win appeared. But Aaron Oliver (4-43) nipped out both batsmen and Trojans collapsed.
Trojans now lie only ten points ahead of Fareham & Crofton, who more or less relegated Lymington II with their ten-wicket win at Bath Lane.
Lymington’s 121 (Oli Calcott 40) was blown away by Dan Wimble (70) and James Heiniger (45), who got Fareham home inside 25 overs.
But Fareham aren’t out of the woods yet – Portsmouth & Southsea’s surprise 97-run win over second placed Fawley trimming the safety gap to 24 points.
Olli Kanavan (55) and Matt Benfield (47) laid the foundations for a P & S total of 174 – one Fawley fancied chasing down while Sufian Munir (28) was at the crease. But the promotion chasers collapsed from 51-2 to 77 all out, Jon Willey taking 4-23 and Kieran Dunstan 3-7.
