Hythe & Dibden will be without three of last season’s Hampshire League championship winning side for their Southern Premier League Division 3 baptism against Tichborne Park at Jones Lane, 12.30.
Influential all-rounder Hakim Peruzi (left) has joined Premier Division Alton, while spinner Wayne Royan is getting married, with opener Tom Gates attending the ceremony.
But Zac Millar and Harry Smith have returned to the Waterside club after university and are joined by Zimbabwean Craig Stow, who has impressed with bat and ball in Hythe’s warm up matches against Sway, Coombe Bissett and Wimborne & Colehill.
“Craig’s fitted in very well, with scores of 124, 89 not out and 50, alongside taking five wickets,” enthused Hythe skipper Tom Richards.
Tichborne Park, relegated from SPL2 last season, have lost lead all-rounder Tom Allam to Basingstoke & North Hants.  Martyn Cheyney takes over the captain’s armband.
Hythe & Dibden: Tom Richards, Matt Young, Andy Wakely, Zac Millar, Craig Stow, Matt Howe, Jonjo Stovell, Harry Smith, Mike Bowman, Ahmad Ahmadzi, Tim Ndowora.
Bashley (Rydal) II are expected to be among the leading lights in SPL3 this summer, but begin at Hambledon minus Simon Ridley, their influential captain.
Bashley (Rydal) II: P Lewis, A Turner, P Holly, P Morris, R Taylor, G Wilson, J Turner, S Morris, S Stroud, N Taylor, S Read.
Purbrook and Portsmouth & Southsea will also fancy their chances, with Josh McCoy’s side hosting relegated Trojans and P & S visiting newly promoted Fareham & Crofton, third placed in County Division 1 last term.
Jack Davies, who won the 2018 SPL3 batting award with three centuries amongst his 642 runs, skippers P & S, while Tom Kent continues at the helm for Fareham.
Fareham & Crofton: Kent, Stoddart, Frost, Kissane, Wimble, Watson, Davey, White, Anscombe, Headen, Briggs.
Portsmouth & Southsea: Davies, Clements, M Benfield, Kanavan, T Benfield, Sahid, Peach, Saunders, Willey, Ali, Dunstan.

Lymington II and Fawley, who were locked in a nerve jangling relegation battle last season, go head-to-head at the LSG, where Adie Hunt takes charge of the hosts.
With Jonathan Lush, top order left-hand batsman from Hamilton, New Zealand, aboard alongside Nikhil Kadyan, a new recruit from Surrey, Fawley look a stronger side.
Lymington II: Hunt, Freeman, K Moors, C Moors, Tollerfield, Calcott, Gorny, McCurdy, Paxton, Smith, Phillips.
Fawley: C Earl, K Earl, Smith, A Parratt, B Parratt, Bryers, Freeman, Munir, Crossley, Lush, Kadyan.
