ITS GOOD  KNIGHT FOR TICHBORNE AFTER SHEP'S LATE STAND

Alex Shephard continued his fine run as stand-in skipper as Waterlooville claimed a second consecutive victory in the Southern Premier League Division 2 / 3 East cup.
The previous week Shephard – captaining the side as Sam Hillman is in quarantine following a trip to Spain – hit four sixes in an unbeaten 66 against Hambledon, writes Simon Carter of The News.
He followed that up with an unbeaten 44 in a stunning ninth wicket stand that gave Waterlooville a nail-biting two wicket win against Tichborne Park.
Chasing Park’s 154-8 (Ashley Gunner 35) total, Ville slipped from 79-3 to 97-8. Shephard (left) and Matt Shaw (21) had steadied the ship after James Long (2-23) had dismissed openers Archie Reynolds (1) and Jon Hudson (2).
Jake Charman and Max Goddard were both out for a duck and Namish Verma (3), Dave Connolly (2) and Ashan Silva (3) all fell cheaply.
Tailender Haydn Knight struck an unbeaten 30 in helping his captain add an unbroken 57 for the ninth wicket.
With Tichborne contributing 48 extras – including 36 wides – Ville won by two wickets with just over five overs remaining.
