Andover recorded their fourth Southern Premier Division 2 win in a row thanks to a splendid 93 not out by George Reynolds against Fawley at Holbury.
After a rapid half-century at Sway the week before, Reynolds continued his good form and showed his versatility, this time with a patient match-winning 93 not out, carrying his bat, and the Andover side to victory.
No other Andover player passed 20 as Reynolds was seemingly batting on a different surface in pursuit of Fawley's 179, opener Sufian Munir making a patient 57 and Bailey Parratt an unbeaten 66 after the Watersiders had slipped to 111-6, Mike Adams (2-25) celebrating his 350th Lions wicket in the process.
Portsmouth & Southsea's visit to London Road on Saturday will be significant after a six-wicket loss to a Ben Johns inspired Calmore Sports at Loperwood Park.
Mark Lavelle (4-40) took the bowling credits as only Tom Benfield (40) and Jake Peach (37) made their mark with the bat. Johns' 66 not out carried the left-hander to a not unfamiliar position at the top of the SPL2 batting charts.
Shafel Asmat [below] took 5-20 as Liphook & Ripsley were dismissed for 127 (Richard Covey 38*) by Hartley Wintney, who defended 186.
