Teenager Matt Deadman hit a maiden 106 – only to set up a nerve racking finish by getting out with Basingstoke & North Hants seconds’ still nine runs short of Langley Manor’s 240-9.
They eventually got home with their last pair at the crease and with the luxury of 20 balls to spare.
In-form opener Conor Browne (63), aided by good supporting roles from Steve Harris (48), Jack Budd (39) and youngster Elliot Ponting (38) enabled the Manor to reach 240-9.
Greg Donaldson (3-31) and Chris Jolley (3-53) were the leading Basingstoke wicket takers.
In reply, the Bountymen lost both Richard Vinn and Scott Dyer early, before Jolley (46) and Deadman added 128 for the third wicket.
Callum Coombs (23) then replaced Jolley at the centre and the score moved to 180-4.
With Deadman, pictured by Neil Smith, in full flow the runs kept coming, but so did the wickets, When Basingstoke’s century maker was finally dismissed they still needed nine to win with two wickets left.
That became seven with one wicket remaining, but Nitin Mathew and Keith Harris saw them home.
