Bournemouth opening bowler Ollie Breckon (left) boosted his prospects of selection for England's defence of the European T10 Championships in Malaga this autumn with impressive figures in the National Counties' win over the MCC at Banbury.
The right-arm seamer took 4-24 off 6.3 overs as the MCC was bowled out for 150 chasing a NC total of 252, for which South Wilts' pair Arthur Godsal (22) and Josh Croom (15) made useful contributions at the end.
Among his victims was St Cross Symondians captain Ed Ellis, who frustrated the NC bowlers late in the MCC innings.
The showpiece fixture, which was umpired by leading South Coast Panel official Paul Sparshott, is part of the warm-up for the defence of the European T10 Championships in Malaga in October.
National Counties, who represented England, triumphed in the Euros last autumn and will return to the Cartama Oval in Malaga to defend their title in October. Godsal and Bournemouth's Luke Webb played in that winning England team.
The European Championship will run from September 12 to October 14 and will involve 21 nations. As defending champions, National Counties will enter this year’s tournament in the last week of the competition, starting on October 10.
