LYMINGTON are sending out a message to local cricket enthusiasts planning to watch their games at the Sports Ground - get there early otherwise you could miss it !
For the last two Saturdays scheduled all-day 'time' ECB Southern Premier Division matches there have finished by mid-afternoon,
First Northants seamer Gareth Berg (5-9) and Ryan Attree (4-48) mowed St Cross Symondians down for 91 and set up an eight-wicket win for Lymington, all done and dusted before the crusts off the cucumber sandwiches had been cut.
Seven days on and Lymington found themselves on the receiving end as Academy pace teens Dom Kelly (pictured left)(4-23) and Jude Wright (3-12) led the way to the New Forest hosts being bowled out for 123 and the match - an eight-wicket win for the county youngsters - finishing by 4 o'clock. The hot sausage rolls were still in the oven !
Lymington, having lurched to 78-6 (Ben Rogers 26), were indebted to Grayshott-based Ali Wheble (31) and the evergreen Ed Freeman (24) for getting as far as 123. The seventh-wicket pair added 42 before Lymington's last four wickets fell for three runs.
Totton & Eling raised Tom Cheater (55) and Kelly (38) completed the formalities for the Academy, who lie second in the log, four points adrift of leaders South Wilts.
