In days of old when cricketers stayed behind and socialised after matches (anyone remember ?), scoring a fifty and/or taking five wickets would have been an expensive outlay in the bar afterwards. It was jug time !
The jury is out whether Bournemouth's Rob Pack was actually seen in either the bar at Burridge last Saturday evening or the one at West Bromwich Dartmouth the following night after bowling Dorset to a National Counties Trophy victory over Staffordshire.
Whatever, the 21-years old left-arm spin all-rounder enjoyed a fine weekend, hitting an unbeaten 55 in Bournemouth's five-wicket Southern Premier League defeat at Burridge and then taking 5-16 as Dorset bowled Staffs out for 115 to win by nine wickets.
He's now fully focussed on repeating the dose this weekend when Bournemouth (now bottom of the SPL) host St Cross Symondians at Chapel Gate tomorrow (11am) and on Sunday when Dorset host Wales MC in their final NT Group 4 match at The Leaze, Wimborne. Both are key matches.
