At 21-4 against Trojans, New Milton's unbeaten June record was under serious threat - but then the young Golding brothers and skipper Ed Bartlett turned the Southern Premier Division 2 match on its head.
They combined to send the New Milton total soaring to 289-8, a score bottom of the log Trojans never threatened and were dismissed for 195.
"We found ourselves in deep trouble at 21-4 and were staring down the barrel of a very early finish," confessed New Milton captain Ed Bartlett.
To Milton's good fortune, Ashmit Khaneja (4-45), who had taken all four wickets, was surprisingly withdrawn from the Trojans attack enabling Cam and Teddy Golding to turn the innings around.
Cam made 67 and Teddy 42 in a stand of 112, which lifted New Milton to 133-4.
When Bartlett weighed in with an unbeaten 70, Lee Beck hit a lively 45 and Ed Wooster 29, Trojans were a spent force and getting 290 was improbable.
With a competitive total on the board, New Milton headed out in the field with intensity and discipline, applying pressure from the outset.
Sharp fielding and clever bowling stifled any early momentum from the Trojans batters, and once Ed Denham (3-18) found his rhythm with the ball, the game quickly tilted in New Milton’s favour.
Cam Golding's fine day continued with a 3-34 return with the ball as Trojans tumbled to 195 all out.
