Havant powered their way to a towering 300-7 - the highest Southern Premier League top flight score of the weekend - but didn’t have the bowling strength to bowl visitors’ Bashley (Rydal) out.
With Michael Porter helping himself to an unbeaten century, Havant were left with 11 points compared with Bashley’s 16, which secured the visitors a ‘winning’ draw.
The 120-over match produced a glut of 576 runs for the loss of 13 wickets – and a pat on the back for groundsman Mike Jones !
Peter Hopson (84) was involved in two handy partnerships at the top of the Havant innings, 126 with Harry Gadd (56) then 42 more with Chris Stone (56) who became the third half-centurion alongside George Metzger (55).
