Michael Porter made his sixth Premier League century
Havant powered their way to a towering 300-7 - the highest Southern Premier League top flight score of the weekend - but didn’t have the bowling strength to bowl visitors’ Bashley (Rydal) out.
With Michael Porter helping himself to an unbeaten century, Havant were left with 11 points compared with Bashley’s 16, which secured the visitors a ‘winning’ draw.
The 120-over match produced a glut of 576 runs for the loss of 13 wickets – and a pat on the back for groundsman Mike Jones !
Peter Hopson (84) was involved in two handy partnerships at the top of the Havant innings, 126 with Harry Gadd (56) then 42 more with Chris Stone (56) who became the third half-centurion alongside George Metzger (55).

Ben Francis, who made a maiden SPL century against Totton & Eling the previous week, went cheaply when Bashley replied, as did skipper Josh Digby who didn’t make the 22 yards and was run out.
At 24-2 it was time for consolidation and that came in abundance as Jacob Gordon and Porter proceeded to grind Havant into the ground in a stand of 143, the pair facing a grand total of 266 balls, the partnership yielded two Gordon sixes and ten fours.
Tom Friend, absent from the Bashley and SPL scene for almost 12 months, was itching to get to the crease and when he got to the middle creamed 56 off 38 balls, including two maximums.  Had he gone in earlier, Bashley (276-6) might even have won …
