Bashley (Rydal) captain Michael Porter [above] put a problematic foot injury behind him to make a match winning score for Brunswick, his adopted Victoria sub-district side, in Melbourne.
Porter's second trip to Australia has been dogged by a painful heel injury which only cured when he had a insole fitted several weeks ago
"I was in a lot of pain, particularly at the crease, and I'm sure it contributed to a run of low scores," he explained.
Since the insole was fitted, Porter made 47 against Key and last weekend an unbeaten 66 against Ivanhoe, whom Brunswick beat by six wickets.
Porter and Bashley team-mate Dan Goodey play their final match this weekend before flying home - via China !
