A half-century by Chris Pratt sealed a comfortable eight-wicket win for Hambledon, who chased a rain trimmed 109-run target after Rowledge had suffered an all too familiar batting collapse at School Road.
A half-century by New Zealander Archie Redfern (56) guided Rowledge to 92-2 but the introduction of spin into the Hambledon attack saw the electronic scoreboard light up a less promising 118-6, with South African Justin Behrens (3-44), former Hayling Island captain Greg Chaplin (2-25) and teen Elliott Lewis (2-16) creating inroads.
Bertie Chilcott (24) did his best to hold the Rowledge innings together, but the hosts subsided to 162 all out.
With rain imminent, Hambledon put bat to ball and scored 47 run in eight overs before heavy rain drove the players from the field to leave a reduced target when play recommenced two hours later.
Pratt, with four sixes in his 56, and Charlie Boyd (28) took their opening stand on to 73 before Rowledge broke through. Behrens made 22* to complete the victory with seven overs to spare.
