A third wicket stand of 143 between Josh McCoy and Sean Figgins laid the foundations for Purbrook’s 50-run win over Bashley (Rydal) II, whose Premier Division 3 prospects dipped in the process.
The pair came together with Purbrook already well placed at 73-2 (Clark Harding 43) and proceeded to pepper the BCG boundary – McCoy hitting two sixes and 12 fours in his 86 and Figgins remaining unbeaten with 82, including eight fours. Purbrook made 248-7.
Two early strikes by James Gurney (2-25) had Bashley on the back foot at 54-4. Phil Morris (44) and teenager James Turner (43) lifted them to 198 all out, Martin Lee taking 4-37.
