Southampton Solent University left-hander Richard Lock got his eye in for today’s (Wednesday's) important BUCS Championship match against Cambridge MCCU by hitting an ECB Southern Premier League century in only his second match for Burridge.
The former Lymington all-rounder struck an 18-boundary 122 and shared a hefty 139-run stand with Cape Town CC's Hilo De Abreu (54) before rain washed out play after 41 overs of New Milton’s visit to Botley Road.
At 231-5, Burridge were headed for a potential 300-plus total when rain intervened with nine overs of the innings remaining.
Solent need to beat Cambridge at Totton & Eling’s Southern Gardens (1230), having lost to Durham by 20 runs and had their last two BUCS matches against Leeds & Bradford and Loughborough washed out.
