Tom Prest struck a blistering 83 not out to sweep Hampshire to a nine-wicket win over Worcestershire and a second consecutive ECB Under-17 County Championship victory.
The Canford starlet, who hit 15 fours, earlier took 3-35 as Worcestershire were dismissed for 120 – a total Hampshire chased down in 17 overs !
Harry Broderick (2-7) and Harry Patrie (1-11) prospered with the new ball in the initial power play, putting Worcestershire on the back foot.
The spin trio of Tom Prest (3-35) Cameron Khanna (3-31) and Monan Abbas (1-29), aided by high quality ground fielding – all ten dismissals were catches - continued applying the pressure, taking wickets at regular intervals as Worcestershire were bowled out for 120 in 36 overs.
