Sarisbury Athletic’s return to the ECB Southern Premier top flight didn’t go according to plan.
They were dismissed for 133 at Bournemouth, losing four wickets for no runs in the space of 16 balls at one stage. Rain then intervened before the hosts had started their reply.
Put in at Chapel Gate, Sarisbury lost young Zimbabwean overseas signing Nathaniel Hlabangama for five, after he had been dismissed without scoring in both of his previous friendly appearances.
Another new signing, fellow opener Joe Baker [late of Totton & Eling] top scored with 29 before he was out to the first ball of the 21st over.
That made the score 90-4 and soon it was 90-7, with Sam Cooper and Jordan Wright both dismissed for ducks and Josh Williams for four.
Premier Division debutant Josiah Edy [left] was the main destroyer, taking three of those four wickets and ending with 4-23.
