Rod Bransgrove, a former resident of Awbridge, near Romsey, and the financial saviour of Hampshire Cricket Club, will be talking about his time as its chairman in a question and answer session in Awbridge village hall on Saturday March 28, the evening before the clocks change and sunlight bursts through our lounge windows.
This will include a two-course supper and the chance to win a copy of the biography of his life and career, which takes in building the Rose Bowl, battles to stage Test matches and securing a first-ever Ashes contest in the county, to be held next year.
Tickets are £25 and all proceeds go towards renovating Awbridge Church. The event starts at 7pm. Please contact Ivo Tennant of The Times, who will be introducing him: [email protected]
