Academy spin all-rounder Sam Davis caught the eye as Hampshire Under-18s opened their ECB County Youth Championship fixtures with a 157-run win over Middlesex at May's Bounty.
Davis followed up his first innings 59 with 86 in the second knock before taking a key 4-23 to bowl Hampshire to victory.
Oli Webster (65) and Seb Rowland (45) also made their mark in Hampshire's 328, while Sam Mills (44) and Will Hamilton (40) shone alongside Davis in a second innings 224-9. Middlesex were dismissed for 202 and 157.
Hampshire play Sussex U18s at Blackstone next.
