Sarisbury Athletic ground staff have put in many hours work and spent over £5,000 this winter to bring the Allotment Road outfield up to ECB Southern Premier League standard.
Club president and head curator Andy Oliphant explained: "At the end of the 2025 season, having had soil samples removed and taken on board what would be the best seed for us to use, we disc seeded and spread fertiliser over the whole outfield .
"The outfield has been fenced off for the whole winter period. When conditions allowed, we started cutting the outfield with our two rotary mowers this has continued over most of February and early March . Hopefully over the next weekend and with a continuation of the Spring-like weather, we should be able to start using the outfield sit-on mowers."
Towards the end of March, Sarisbury Athletic plan to overseed the whole outfield again and adding fertiliser to promote growth and herbicide to kill off any weeds.
"Confidence is high that all should be ready for the start of the pre-season friendlies in mid April," Oliphant added.
Sarisbury Athletic are back in the Southern Premier Division this summer following their 2025 Division 1 title win, with the club's second team set to make its debut in Division 3.
They begin at Bournemouth on May 2, with the 2nd XI home to Hook & Newnham Basics II.
