Neil Shelar and Dubs Wood hit half-centuries to haul holders Basingstoke & North Hants out of the mire and set up a 38-run win over Odiham & Greywell, who had threatened a Guy Jewell T20 Cup semi-final shock at May's Bounty.
Basingstoke were in a pickle after an impressive triple new-ball blast by Rowan Duckworth and Dylan Kettle had them rocking at 1903, but opener Wood (confidence restored after a match winning Southern Premier League fifty at Burridge) remained calm. He hit 50 and Shelar an eye caching 57 not out as Basingstoke recovered to make 142-6.
Odiham's response was even more disastrous with the prolific Kyron Munt and Rowledge's Zac LeRoux dismissed in Ash Neal's first over. It left massive responsibility on the broad Australian shoulders of the Melbourne-based Gareth Sharp (41), who kept the unbeaten Hampshire League leaders in the frame.
As Stoke turned to spin, so the scoring rate checked and wickets fell - two each to Ali Brown and Wood - before Matt Donaldson (3-13) mowed through the tail. O & G were 104 all out, with 20 balls unused.
