Leaders Bashley (Rydal) plan to unveil a 'totally unknown' bowler into their new-ball attack in tomorrow's round 10 top-of-the-table match against South Wilts at Bemerton, 11am.
Injured Bash skiper Michael Porter is giving little away about his signing, save: "Azam turned up to a pre-season net and looked good but for a few reasons hasn't played a game for us. He will share the new ball with Dan Goodey.
Porter continues to recover from a broken finger, while this weekend's wicketkeeping slot goes to Ben Francis.
"He's our fifth wicketkeeper of the season. Ben Francis has kept well for the second team and been scoring plenty of runs," Porter added.
Ben Walker looks to continue his fine form, having made 93 and 98 in the last two weeks.
South Wilts: Degg, Cheater, Broderick, Pearce, Draper, Falconer, Fairfax-Ross, R.Pittman, S.Pittman, Freeman, Grant.
Bashley (Rydal): Walker, Tripcony, Stearman, Gordon, Turner, Francis, Digby, Goodey, Prichard, Wilson, Azam
Champions Burridge ended the first half of the season with an identical record to 2023 - four wins and three defeats - so can they repeat their triumph of 12 months ago and retain the title.
Ironically, their trophy defence began on a disastrous note with a 47-run defeat by Havant, who haven't managed a single win since and now have a desperate relegation battle on their hands.
Alton, who host St Cross Symondians, gave their survival hopes a significant boost with a crushing nine-wicket win over Bournemouth last week. The gap between the Brewers and Havant is now 17 points.
Bournemouth visit Basingstoke & North Hants with teenage left-hander Ben Rogers back from riot torn Nairobi, where an LMS tournament was staged against the backdrop of tear gas and anti-government protests. "Scary and arguably safer on the safari parks," was Rogers' assessment.
Bournemouth: Van Goole, N Park, Webb, Meyer, Woodruff, Rogers, Robinson, Smith, Rushforth, Breckon, Conway.
Lymington have teenager wicketkeeper Rob Hemmings back from a two-match suspension for the visit of the Hampshre Academy to the Sports Ground.
Lymington: J Dhariwal, Rogers, M Abbas, K Dhariwal, C Moors, G Berg, J Royan, Hemmings, Layman, Thompson, A Abbas.
Division 1 leaders Portsmouth go to Old Tauntonians & Romsey, who have lost their last two games, while second placed Sarisbury Athletic travel to Rowledge, who welcome back the Ryman brothers after a relaxing break in Clacton-on-Sea.
High scoring Hook & Newnham Basics visit bottom side Calmore Sports who have run Portsmouth and Sarisbury Athletic close in the past fortnight. Andover ideally need a positive result at Totton & Eling.
Hambledon all-rounder Henry Glanfield faces an anxious wait to see if he's been picked for the top Premier 2 showdown with Portsmouth & Southsea at Ridge Meadow, which starts at 11.
He chose winning a prominent golf championship instead of playing in last week's win at Langley Manor. Will Parvin, who took his place, scored a match winning 69.
Fair Oak also start their SPL2 match with Langley Manor at 11 so the teams can watch some football match on the Lapstone Park 3-D big screen.
Sway look to do the double on Liphook & Ripsley at Station Road but injury and unavailability take their toll. They are without Hugh Bernard, Tim Noble and Tom Burton.
Sway: Josh Bailey, Will Millard, Will Crossley, Dan Bailey, Dave Steadman, Adam Clark, Jay Dehning, Jon Grasham, Olli Marshall, Rich Thomas, Jon Waller.
